The officers, already engaged in their duties, swiftly responded to an emergency at Eastbourne Pier, where two men were found unconscious and suspected of cardiac arrest. Their timely CPR intervention was crucial in reviving the patients.

Notably, this life-saving action occurred just 15 minutes following the officers’ involvement in apprehending a suspect for drug-related charges, showcasing their versatility and commitment to public safety. TFU Inspector Oli Fisher emphasised the dual competency of the officers, praising their medical and Police training. “This was a serious medical emergency,” Fisher stated, acknowledging the vital role of firearms officers in emergency medical situations and their continuous impact on public safety.
