Attempt Murder probe launched after drive by Harrow shooting

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after two men sustained gunshot wounds in Harrow. At 5.09pm on Tuesday, 21 August, police were called to reports of a shooting near the station at Rayners Lane. Officers attended along with specialist firearms colleagues. It is believed that a male fired shots at another group of males before fleeing the scene with an accomplice on a moped. The two victims – aged 18 years and 24 years – were located in a fenced area nearby suffering from gunshot wounds. They were conveyed to hospital; neither is believed to be in a life-threatening condition. Two other men – aged 18 years and 25 years were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. They were taken to west London police stations and have since been released under investigation. Initial enquires at the scene led to a report of further gunshots being fired other than by ‘A’. Subsequent police enquiries suggest that this was not the case, and at this time officers believe that ‘A’ was the only shooter. Officers from the Trident Area and Gang Crime Command are investigating. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. A crime scene is in place. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information is asked to call Trident officers via 101 quoting reference CAD 5616/aug21.
