A Metropolitan Police officer who was hit by a car during a foot chase in Bexleyheath is now recovering, with injuries confirmed to be non-life-threatening or life-changing.

Incident Details

The officer was struck by a car shortly after 11:59 AM on Thursday, February 13, near Mayplace Road West, while pursuing a suspect on foot.

Police had initially been called to the scene following concerns for the safety of a woman who was with a man.

Road Closure and Investigation

The road was cordoned off for several hours as emergency services responded to the incident. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
