Police responded to a serious incident at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 November, after receiving reports of a car mounting the pavement and colliding with a building on Coventry Street, at the junction with Haymarket in central London.

According to witnesses, the vehicle left the road, hitting a building in the busy area.

Two individuals were injured in the crash: a pedestrian and a passenger in the car, both of whom were transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the car was not seriously injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

 


Road closures remain in effect around Coventry Street as police continue their investigation into the incident. Authorities have confirmed that they are not treating the collision as a terrorist-related event at this time.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance service said: “We were called at 6:52pm today (12 November) to reports of an incident at Coventry Street, W1D.

We sent three ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and a medic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated three patients at the scene. We took all three to a major trauma centre, two as a priority.”

A Spokesman for the Met Police said : Police were called at approximately 18:50hrs on Tuesday, 12 November to reports of a collision involving a car in Coventry Street, junction with Haymarket, SW1.

Witnesses reported a car mounted the pavement before colliding with a building.

Two people – a pedestrian and a passenger who was in the car – were taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

No reports of any other serious injuries.

Road closures remain in place around the location.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
