An investigation is underway following a large fire that broke out at a scaffold yard and garage on Norwood High Street late last night (6 December).
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a fire at a scaffold yard and vehicle repair unit on Norwood High Street. Part of the scaffold yard and half of an adjacent single-storey motor repair workshop were alight.

“Around 30 people left the property before the Brigade arrived. There are currently no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of 14 calls to the fire at 11.08pm and mobilised crews from West Norwood, Brixton, Norbury, Forest Hill, and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1.16am.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the blaze, which caused significant damage to the affected properties.
