Heathrow Freight Firm Evacuated Over Suspicious Package

Emergency Response Sparks Evacuations Near Heathrow

Police scrambled to the Goldstar lorry depot in Colnbrook, Berkshire, after a ‘suspicious package’ was reported late Monday evening. The site, just three miles from Heathrow’s bustling Terminal 5, was swiftly sealed off as a precaution. Locals within 100 metres of Bath Road were evacuated, and an additional 200-metre cordon was set up, causing significant traffic disruptions.

Area Locked Down Amid Safety Concerns

Goldstar’s Colnbrook depot lies close to major passenger hotels, including the Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5 and B&B Hotel London Heathrow, heightening concerns over the incident’s potential impact.

Thames Valley Police confirmed: “We are currently at the scene of an incident involving a suspicious package. A 100-metre evacuation is underway, with a further 200-metre cordon affecting local traffic. This is a precaution while the package is being assessed. We urge the public to avoid the area. We are working with partners to keep everyone safe.”

Package Deemed Safe After Expert Assessment

The Ministry of Defence’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team examined the package and declared it not to pose any danger, bringing the incident to a close.
