Emergency services are currently responding to a significant incident in Westbourne Park, West London, following reports of a loud explosion and subsequent fire that erupted shortly after 8 PM on Wednesday evening.


It is understood that an aerosol may have exploded into a fire ball.

When Fire crews first arrived they found the windows of the top floor flat blown out  and on the ground with flames shooting out of the window.

The London Fire Brigade has deployed a substantial number of firefighters to the scene, working diligently to control the blaze.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, including members of the Hazardous Area Response Team, are also in attendance to provide medical assistance as needed.

Authorities have established a cordon around the affected area, and road closures are in effect. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the vicinity.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 8.20pm today (26 February) to reports of a fire on Westbourne Park Road, W2

“We sent resources to the scene, including an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).

“Fortunately there were no patients and we were later stood down.”
