Firearm seized after motorist stopped in Sarre, near Birchington

A firearm was seized by Kent Police officers after they stopped a motorist on the A28 in Sarre. Police on patrol stopped and searched a car just before midnight on Wednesday 1 May 2019 when the weapon was discovered. Robin Ling, 24, from Beach Road, Westgate-on-Sea was arrested along with Charlie Anderson, 24, of East Street, Canterbury. The pair were subsequently charged with the possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. They have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 3 June 2019.
