In a rapid response to a fire emergency, eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters bravely tackled a blaze that engulfed a row of garages on Gadwall Way in Thamesmead. The incident, which unfolded recently, resulted in significant property damage but thankfully, no reported injuries.

The fire’s intensity was such that it led to the complete destruction of four single-storey garages, while parts of three terraced houses nearby suffered damage as well. The London Fire Brigade’s 999 Control Officers were inundated with almost 30 calls reporting the incident.
