Firefighters will continue to battle a factory fire in Belvedere overnight as the blaze stretches into its third day. The fire, which broke out at a commercial property on Mulberry Way around 10am on September 16, has proven challenging for crews from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and London Ambulance Service, who were dispatched to the scene shortly after it was reported.
A spokesperson for the LFB said: “Firefighters are responding to an incident at an industrial site on Church Manorway, Erith. The incident involves a corkscrew conveyor belt which was alight, and crews are now working to reduce it to the building’s ambient temperature.

“This is a protracted incident, and firefighting operations will extend into tomorrow (18 September).”
Crews from Erith, Plumstead, Greenwich, and nearby fire stations are continuing to respond to the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Local businesses have been impacted by the road closures, and residents are advised to avoid the area if possible.
