Halifax Man Jailed For Murder Of Casey Badhams

A Halifax man who stabbed his friend following an argument has been jailed. 

On Thursday 24 February at Bradford Crown Court, Jake Wilkinson was sentenced for the murder of Casey Badhams in August last year. 

Jake Wilkinson, 21 of Furness Drive, Halifax was given a minimum term of 22 years minus 199 days spent on remand.

Casey Badhams, who was 20, was found with a serious injury when police were called to Myrtle Avenue on 7 August 2021.

He was taken to hospital but sadly passed away a short time later. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Amanda Wimbles of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: 
 “This is an awful case, where two young men who were previously friends had a minor argument which resulted in one of them losing their life. 
 “We hope it will bring some degree of comfort to know that Wilkinson has now been brought to justice and had to answer for his actions. 
 “This tragic case illustrates only too well the appalling human cost of people carrying and using knives and we hope that it will serve as a stark reminder to others of the terrible consequences of knife crime and the devastation it can cause.”
