Fitness coach and author Joe Wicks paid a special visit to Paddington Fire Station on Valentine’s Day as part of his UK workplace workout tour. The tour saw Wicks travel from Scotland to London, promoting fitness and mental health in the workplace.
Workout with Firefighters
Firefighters and staff from across the London Fire Brigade, including members of Paddington’s Green Watch, took part in a high-energy workout session led by Wicks. Participants had the opportunity to discuss fitness, mental health, and work-life balance with the well-known fitness expert.

Experiencing Firefighter Life
Following the workout, Wicks climbed aboard a 32-metre turntable ladder, getting a first-hand experience of some of the critical equipment used by firefighters in emergency response situations.
Fire Brigade’s Perspective
Station Officer Kelly-Ann Marchant, who organised the event, highlighted the importance of such initiatives:
“As members of the London Fire Brigade, maintaining our mental health and physical fitness is essential given the demand of our roles. This event was an amazing opportunity for staff to come together and focus on overall well-being. It felt incredibly uplifting and was such a positive experience to be a part of. Joe was really engaging and supportive throughout the workout, and it was fantastic to hear him share some of his expertise with us.”
The event underscored the importance of fitness and mental resilience for emergency service workers, reinforcing the Brigade’s commitment to the well-being of its personnel.
