Lanes Closed on the M25 following Single Vehicle Collision

Lanes 1 and 2 (of 4) are closed on the M25 anti-clockwise in Essex between J26 (Waltham Abbey) and J25 (Waltham Cross / Cheshunt) due to a single vehicle collision. At 7.10pm on Tuesday evening a lorry collided with the nearside barrier and came to rest down the motorway embankment near to a brook for the River Lea. The vehicle is fully loaded with flammable liquids which will need to be carefully removed in daylight hours. A full carriageway closure will be implemented at approx. 4am between J27 and J25 to allow this to take place, the road is likely to remain closed throughout the morning. Once the road is closed motorists will be diverted from the M25 J27 southbound on the M11 to the A406 North Circular Road. Travel west on the A406 via Edmonton to the A10 Great Cambridge Road and exit onto the roundabout. Head north on the A10 to re-join the M25 at J25. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys this morning and allow additional time if travelling in the area.
