London Firefighter Embarks on Epic 300-Mile Run to Visit All 102 City Fire Stations for Charity

London firefighter Steve Moore is gearing up for an extraordinary challenge as he plans to run over 300 miles to visit each of London’s 102 fire stations to raise funds for charity. An adept ultra-marathon and endurance runner, Moore will kick off his monumental journey on May 21 at the London Fire Brigade Headquarters in Southwark. Over the course of his run, he will navigate a meticulously planned route through the sprawling urban landscape of the capital.

Determined and focused, Moore is preparing to tackle approximately 60 miles daily, dedicating around 12-14 hours each day to his running endeavor. This intense schedule is designed to ensure he meets his goal within the timeframe he has set, aiming to finish at the historic Monument in central London. The Monument commemorates the starting point of the infamous Great Fire of London, making it a symbolic endpoint for his run. Upon completion, Moore looks forward to a warm reception from colleagues, friends, and family.

Reflecting on the origins of his ambitious plan, Moore shared that the idea struck him while he was at Edmonton Fire Station. “Looking at the map of London, I started to wonder if anyone had ever attempted to run to every fire station in the city. That curiosity blossomed into determination, and I decided to be the one to take on this unique challenge,” he said.

The drive behind Moore’s rigorous effort is not just personal achievement but also his desire to support meaningful causes. He has chosen to dedicate his run to raising awareness and funds for two charities close to his heart: The Fire Fighters Charity and Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. Both organizations provide critical support and care, aligning well with Moore’s community-focused spirit.

As the date approaches, the London firefighting community and supporters across the city are rallying behind Moore, inspired by his commitment to the welfare of others through this challenging feat.
