M11 Near Harlow closed after Motorcyclist Dies Following Serious Collision

A man has sadly died following a serious collision on the M11 near Harlow this afternoon (Sunday, 17 August 2025).

Emergency services were called shortly before 3.50pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on the southbound carriageway, close to Junction 7.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have confirmed that specially trained officers are now supporting the man’s family.

The M11 southbound was closed for several hours while collision investigators examined the scene, with motorists urged to avoid the area and plan alternative routes.

An Essex Police spokesperson said:

“We can now confirm a man has died following the collision on the M11 this afternoon. The collision involved a car and a motorbike and, sadly, the rider of the motorbike died at the scene. Specialist officers are supporting his family.”

Appeal for Witnesses

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or footage of the collision to come forward.
