M2 Motorway Closed Eastbound Following Fatal Incident Near Medway Viaduct

Traffic chaos hit Kent’s motorway network this morning as police shut a stretch of the M2 following a tragic incident near the Medway Viaduct.

The M2 coastbound carriageway remains closed between Junction 1 (A2/A289 Strood) and Junction 3 (Chatham/Rochester) due to a serious police-led incident, which was first reported at around 5.15am.
The Medway Viaduct, a major transport link in and out of North Kent, is routinely used by tens of thousands of commuters, freight hauliers, and cross-county travellers.
