M25 Crash: Man Hospitalised With Serious Injuries After HGV and Road Sweeper Collision

A man has been rushed to the hospital with serious injuries following a major collision on the M25 in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called at 3.46 am to the anticlockwise carriageway between junctions 6 (Godstone Interchange) and 5 (Chevening Interchange) after a crash involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) and a road sweeper.

A 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving without due care and attention, Surrey Police confirmed.

Road Closure & Traffic Diversion

The affected section of the M25 remains closed anticlockwise between J6 and J5, with disruption expected to last several hours. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and follow the hollow square diversion symbol on road signs.

Diversion Route:

  • Exit M25 at J6, third exit at Godstone Interchange onto the A22

  • At A22/A25 roundabout, take the first exit onto A25 towards Westerham

  • Follow A25 through Limpsfield, Oxted, Westerham, Brasted, and Sundridge

  • Rejoin M25 at J5 towards Dartford Crossing
