A 20-year-old man has died following a tragic crash involving a Land Rover Discovery that reportedly lost control in a car park near Winnersh Triangle Park and Ride on Thursday night (April 16).
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10pm, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers, according to Thames Valley Police.
A second 20-year-old man, from Barnet, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Darren Brown, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“This appears to have been a single-vehicle collision, and very sadly, a man has died. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this extremely upsetting time.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time to please come forward and assist with our investigation.”
The incident occurred in the Winnersh Triangle park and ride car park, a location near Reading commonly used by commuters.
