Blaze Breaks Out on Deptford Balcony – Six Engines Rush In

Firefighters dashed to a roaring balcony fire at a six-storey Deptford block last night. Flames erupted on Childers Street just after 7pm, quickly engulfing several balconies.

40 Firefighters Battle Flames, Building Evacuated

London Fire Brigade dispatched six engines and around 40 firefighters to tackle the inferno. The entire block was evacuated as a safety measure. Luckily, there are no reports of injuries.

“Several balconies at a six-storey building were alight. The fire is now under control but crews will remain on scene to fully extinguish and dampen down hotspots,” confirmed the Brigade.

Fire Under Control but Cause Still Unknown

Fire control received 15 emergency calls from witnesses, including nearby railway passengers who spotted the stunning blaze. Firefighters had the flames under control by 8.04pm.

The London Fire Brigade is continuing to investigate what sparked the fire.
