A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder as police continue to investigate the fatal explosion that destroyed a house in Worksop over the weekend and claimed the life of 53-year-old David Howard.
Emergency services were called to John Street at 7.39pm on Saturday, 12 April, following reports of a major explosion that completely levelled a terraced home and caused damage to surrounding properties. A major incident was declared as firefighters, police, and paramedics raced to the scene.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Mr Howard was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin are being supported by specially trained officers.

Arrest Made in Ongoing Investigation
As part of their inquiries, Nottinghamshire Police arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He has since been bailed pending further investigations into the cause of the explosion.
