A man is fighting for his life in hospital following a serious collision in Rainham on Friday evening (April 25).
The incident is now under investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, with officers working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
In a statement, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to New Road, RM13 at 20:18hrs on Friday, 25 April following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 45-year-old man for serious injuries before taking him to hospital. The man suffered from life-changing/threatening injuries and currently remains in hospital.”
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the collision or events leading up to it to come forward. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting CAD 7371/25APR25.
