Man in Critical Condition After Hackney Shooting as Police Launch Investigation

A 37-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in Crossway, Hackney late on Friday night, prompting a major police investigation.

The Metropolitan Police were called at 22:53hrs on Friday, June 20, to reports of gunfire in the east London street. Firearms officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and located a man suffering from gunshot injuries.
Road closures were put in place while emergency responders secured the area and conducted initial enquiries. These have now been lifted, although a crime scene remains active.
