Thousands of Microsoft users are experiencing issues with various services today, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Minecraft. Reports of website, server connection, and app issues have surged on Downdetector, with more than 1,800 users reporting problems with Minecraft, 1,500 with Microsoft Azure, and 800 with Microsoft 365 at the time of publication.

Users from across the UK and around the world have taken to social media to share their frustrations. One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressed their exasperation: “Gonna punch someone in the face and cry why cant I access f*****g Microsoft Teams how am I meant to do any revision.” Another user added, “Microsoft Azure services are down globally. That could be causing the issue, it’s taken Minecraft down.”

Today’s disruption follows a major Microsoft IT outage just weeks ago, which caused global havoc affecting airlines, train services, GP surgeries, and businesses.

What is Downdetector?

Downdetector is an online platform that allows users to report issues with popular services such as X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and Virgin Media. The site only reports an incident when the number of problem reports significantly exceeds the typical volume for that time of day.
