Morville Road Sealed Off as Investigation Continues in Chorlton

A residential street in south Manchester remains sealed off this morning following a serious overnight incident in Chorlton.

Emergency services were called to Morville Road at approximately 11pm on Monday night (March 11), with reports of armed police units and a helicopter being deployed to the area.

Police Cordon in Place

Photographs from the scene show a police cordon stretching across Morville Road, including the junction with Badminton Road, where at least one Greater Manchester Police (GMP) vehicle remains stationed. A BMW vehicle has also been seen taped off within the cordon, suggesting it may be central to the investigation.

Details Yet to Be Confirmed

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the incident. The presence of specialist officers and a significant emergency response, however, has led to mounting speculation among local residents.

One eyewitness said:

“We heard the helicopter overhead and saw armed officers down the street. Something serious definitely happened, but no one’s been told anything yet.”

Ongoing Investigation

A GMP spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway, but declined to release further information at this stage. Officers are expected to conduct door-to-door enquiries and examine CCTV footage in the area throughout the day.

Residents have been advised to avoid the area while police work continues.
