A harrowing day on London’s train lines has left one person dead and another fighting for life after two separate incidents at Hanwell and Watford stations.
Fatal Incident at Hanwell
Police were called to Hanwell railway station in west London around midday following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics arrived swiftly, but sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was seriously injured after being struck on the tracks. Authorities say her injuries are “life-threatening and life-changing”. The line was shut down and all services between Watford and London Euston were cancelled.
Transport Disruption and Ongoing Investigation
- Major disruption hit trains from Paddington and Euston throughout the day, with lines closed for emergency response.
- British Transport Police urged the public for patience as investigations continue.
“Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.” – British Transport Police spokesperson
