MAIDSTONE — Live News
The Operation Brock contraflow system will be activated on the M20 from Monday, 16 December, to manage anticipated high traffic volumes during the busy Christmas holiday period.
To deploy the contraflow, the M20 will be closed overnight on Sunday, 15 December, between Maidstone and Ashford:
The closures will be in place from 8 PM on Sunday until 6 AM on Monday, 16 December. Fully signed diversion routes will be provided, and drivers are advised to follow these signs rather than relying on SatNav instructions.
The contraflow system will operate on a 13-mile stretch of the M20 between junctions 8 (Maidstone) and 9 (Ashford). It aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and improve Kent’s resilience amid potential disruptions at the Port of Dover or Eurotunnel.
For further updates, drivers are encouraged to check the National Highways website and stay informed about travel conditions.
