A person has tragically died after being struck by a train at Eden Park station this morning (September 9). Emergency services were called to Upper Elmers End Road just before 8:50 am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. British Transport Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Southeastern also issued a statement regarding the disruption: “A person has been hit by a train between Elmers End and Hayes (Kent), resulting in all lines being closed. As a result, trains will be cancelled or revised. This is expected until 12:00.”
