Police called to World War Two Bomb in Bedford

Police in Bedford were called at approximately 5pm today to reports that a device, believed to be a WW2 shell, has been discovered at a house on Spenser Street in Bedford. A cordon has been put in place and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team has been dispatched Update:The device discovered in Spenser Road, Bedford, has been examined by the EOD and was found to be an empty tank shell and is not viable. All road closures have been lifted.
