Police name cyclist Hit on M3 Near Fleet

Tributes have been paid by friends and family as police continue to investigate how and why a cyclist was killed on the M3 near Fleet this week. Police have named a cyclist who died following the collision on the M3, near Fleet. Officers were called to the southbound carriageway of the M3 to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedal cyclist. It happened between junctions 4a and Fleet services at around 10.40pm on May 5. Chartered accountant 52-year-old Simon Wagner from Aldershot was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have paid tribute to him “Simon was the best husband anyone could wish for and an irreplaceable Dad to his three children. A truly precious Son, Brother, and Uncle. “ Simon had a warm and generous heart, loved life and made friends wherever he went. “Simon touched so many lives and the news of his sudden and tragic death is a terrible shock for everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.” Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 101, quoting Operation Chair, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
