Two passengers were escorted off an easyJet flight from Tenerife South to London Gatwick by Sussex Police, much to the cheers of their fellow travellers. The flight, which landed at 2am on Wednesday witnessed the removal of the duo who were allegedly intoxicated and disruptive throughout the journey.
Witnesses on board described the pair as “rowdy” after they consumed a significant amount of duty-free vodka. The situation escalated to the point where police intervention was necessary upon the plane’s arrival. A passenger, who captured the incident on video later shared by Mail Online, said, “A police officer emptied the passenger’s handbag onto the tarmac and a 1-litre vodka bottle that appeared to be almost empty fell out.”
The spokesperson added, “Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always EasyJet’s highest priority.”
