A wave of thefts has shocked the town of Skelton, North Yorkshire, after two vital defibrillators were stolen from community buildings on the same evening. Cleveland Police are now urgently appealing for public help to identify the suspect behind the crimes.

Theft at Skelton Civic Centre

At approximately 8:35 PM on Monday, 9 June 2025, a defibrillator was forcibly removed from its cabinet outside Skelton Civic Centre on Coniston Road. The device, valued at several thousand pounds, was stolen after its protective box was smashed open.

“These thefts are not just criminal—they’re dangerous,” a local councillor told The Sentinel Current. “They put lives at risk and undermine the sense of safety our town has built.”
