Calum Lacey, 33, of Station Road, Southampton, appeared in Southampton Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, January 19.
He previously pleaded guilty to communicating with and encouraging a minor under the age of 16 to send sexual messages.
This was in relation to messages he sent to a teenage girl via the auto-delete sites Telegram and Wickr, with Discord being used for video-chatting between October 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.
He also admitted to causing or inciting a girl under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity.
This occurred through online conversations with another adolescent girl between March 1 and July 31, 2020.
Since these incidents were reported to us, victims have received assistance from specialised officers.
Lacey was arrested in March 2021 and charged on November 1 of the previous year.
He was sentenced to two years in prison and was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order with conditions for five years, which means that if he violates these conditions, he will be committing a new offence.
He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of ten years.
Lacey was in a privileged position of trust as a teacher in the Alton area, yet he encouraged teenage girls to send him sexual messages online,” said Acting DS Heather Tack of the Child Abuse Investigation Team.
These two girls have been so brave throughout the investigation and court process, and now that Lacey is in custody, hopefully, they can find some closure.
We take all forms of child abuse extremely seriously, and I hope this result demonstrates how hard the Child Abuse Investigation Team works to keep children in our community safe from sexual predators.
