At around midday on Thursday (11/11) the victim, a 17-year-old boy, was approached by two offenders near to Earley train station at the junction of Compton Close and Station Road.
They asked to borrow the victim’s phone and when the victim asked for it back, one of the offenders told him that he had a knife and refused to hand the phone over.
The victim was then told to give the offenders his gilet which he handed over. The offenders then left.
The victim was not injured.
The offenders are both described as Asian males, approximately 16-years-old and wearing face masks.
The offender who took the victims phone is also described as being of slim build, approximately 6ft 1in tall and was wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded top.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dennis Hicks, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw this incident or has any information about what happened to please come forward.
“This happened close to the train station at around lunchtime and so I believe that it is likely that members of the public, both pedestrians and cyclists, may have seen what happened.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43200371067.
