Firefighters have extinguished a blaze at Tilbury Docks this afternoon, with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) confirming the fire was accidental and that crews left the scene by around 2pm on Friday, 12 September.

A specialist “airport-style” fire engine owned by a nearby company assisted at the scene. “The ‘airport’ fire engine… came to support our firefighters. Our crews reported that it was a great help,” ECFRS said in a public reply, praising the joint effort as “#teamwork.”

Witnesses reported seeing activity near a wood/”>wood reclamation area by the entrance to Terminal 2, with smoke visible from nearby vantage points.
