Tributes Pour in for Young Man Killed in A299 Thanet Way Crash

Friends and Family Remember “Big Character” with an “Infectious Smile”

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to Marshall Spelzini, a young man who tragically lost his life in a fatal crash on the A299 Thanet Way earlier this week.

Marshall was a passenger in a lorry that collided with a stationary road sweeper near St Nicholas-at-Wade on Tuesday evening, February 25. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His devastated family, friends, and teammates have described him as a “one-in-a-million” personality whose smile and energy left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Football Community Mourns a “Vital Member”

Marshall was well known in the east Kent football community, having played for Dover Rangers FC, Dover Town Wanderers, and Betteshanger FC before returning to his boyhood club, Cinque Ports FC.

His former club Dover Rangers FC expressed their grief, saying:
“His infectious smile and cheeky personality will certainly be missed by all. We are a squad full of heavy, broken hearts.”

Cinque Ports FC also paid tribute, sharing:
“Marshall was loved by all that knew him and he will truly be missed. The club’s thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and partner Maisie, as well as the lads at Dover Rangers FC.”

Loved Ones Express Their Heartache

Marshall’s girlfriend’s mother, Joanne Wall, described him as:
“The best son-in-law I can only ever dream of having. Our house is not the same without you here. You will never leave our hearts.”

Friend David Stapley added:
“His death is a massive loss, not just for football but also as a human being.
