West Midlands Police have swooped hard, arresting 36 suspects during their latest Operation Advance.
The crackdown kicked off with early morning raids and ran well into the night, targeting drug dealers, sexual offenders, and weapons carriers across the region.
Operation Advance Hits Drug Dealers and Sexual Offenders
Officers, backed by specialist units and partners like Safer Travel, National Express, and Trading Standards, conducted a day of intense enforcement action. Arrests covered a string of serious offences, including conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, possession with intent, sexual assault, fraud, and assisting offenders.
- Six vehicles were seized for no insurance
- 18 drivers hit with penalties for various offences
The RASSO team (Rape and Serious Sexual Assault Offences) targeted addresses in BlackCountry, Coventry, and Birmingham, making multiple arrests connected to sexual crime.
Erdington Stings Immigration Offender and Fines Business £40k
In Erdington, the Op Fearless team partnered with Trading Standards for high-impact patrols on local businesses. Their efforts uncovered thousands of pounds worth of illegal goods, including cigarettes and vapes.
A man was arrested over immigration offences, and the associated business was slapped with a hefty £40,000 fine.
Mounted Units and Police Dogs Back Up Patrols
Visible police presence was bolstered by mounted officers and sniffer dogs, ensuring the crackdown sent a clear message across the West Midlands: crime won’t be tolerated.
