92 Year Old Pensioner Pulled from House a blaze by Fire Fighters

A 92-year-old man was rescued by crews after fire took hold of his home in Fleet. Firefighters in breathing apparatus carried the man out of his chalet bungalow to safety after neighbours had called 999 just before 6pm. The man was given emergency medical care by firefighters and taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation, but was not seriously injured. The fire spread to the roof of the building and it took around 35 firefighters to extinguish the flames. The property was severely damaged by the fire but no-one else was injured in the incident. The final cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is being treated as accidental.
