A double-decker bus carrying Hinkley Point employees overturned early this morning, injuring many. Emergency services have been called to the scene of the accident on the A39 near Bridgwater's Sandford Hill.     The emergency services are treating the injured and attempting to free some of the trapped workers on the bus. So far, few details about the crash, which occurred around 6 a.m. this morning, have emerged. It is believed that around 80 workers were on the bus on their way to their next shift.

"The bus is understood to have swerved to avoid a motorbike in icy conditions," a source revealed. The air ambulance is on the scene, and medics have set up a triage area." The crash site is about eight miles away from the nuclear power station.  

A significant number of police, fire, and ambulance units are on the scene, and a major incident has been declared," said an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson.
