An air ambulance has been rushed to the scene of a severe crash on the A338 in rural Wiltshire. Emergency services were called around 5pm today after a collision just east of Burbage.
Major Emergency Response at Piccadilly Crossroads
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance touched down in a nearby field close to Piccadilly Crossroads as crews battled the aftermath. Multiple 999 vehicles remain on site, but further details about the crash are still unknown.
A338 Closure Causing Chaos
The busy A338, linking Burbage with Hungerford, is expected to stay closed for some time, with local drivers urged to find alternative routes.
Wiltshire Police spokesperson: “We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A338 and a closure is in place near Marlborough. Please seek alternative routes and expect delays if travelling in the area.”
