7,000 Suspected LSD Tabs Seized in M2 Van Bust
Kent Police have made a major drugs haul after stopping a van driving erratically on the M2 near Aylesford. Around 7,000 suspected LSD tabs were found inside the vehicle following reports from concerned members of the public.
Van Spotted Stopped on Hard Shoulder Near Bluebell Hill
The drama unfolded at 6.05pm on Wednesday 22 July 2020. Witnesses alerted police after the van came to a halt against a barrier on the coastbound hard shoulder near the Bluebell Hill junction.
Driver Arrested Over Drug Supply and Reckless Driving
Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit quickly responded. The driver, a man in his 30s from maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs.
During a search, officers discovered a plastic bag containing suspected ketamine and 11 perforated cardboard sheets packed with suspected LSD tabs.
He was then also arrested for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, along with possession of Class B drugs. Searches of his home uncovered even more suspected LSD tabs and a stash of cash.
Investigation Ongoing as Suspect Remains in Custody
The man remains in police custody as inquiries continue. This bust deals a significant blow to drug supply networks in the area.
