Mantas Kudrevicius, 32, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars after admitting to causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal smash happened last August on the notorious A16 near Cowbit, Spalding.
Deadly Crash Details
Just before midnight on Friday 30 August, Kudrevicius was driving his BMW 325D Sport towards Spalding when he suddenly swerved into the opposite lane. His car collided head-on with a Renault Twingo driven by 28-year-old Shinead Francis.
The impact pushed the Renault off the road where it caught fire. Brave passersby rushed to the scene and pulled unconscious Shinead from the burning wreckage. Despite emergency responders’ best efforts and first aid at the scene, Shinead tragically died.
Harsh Penalties for Dangerous Driving
At Lincoln Crown Court today, Kudrevicius was slapped with a seven-year, three-month driving ban. He must also pass an extended driving test before he can ever get behind the wheel again. He lives on Victoria Street, Quorn.
The court’s tough sentence sends a clear warning about the deadly consequences of dangerous driving.
