Kent Police were called to woodland close to Etchden Road, Bethersden, just after 9.30am on Wednesday 25 March 2026. Emergency crews arrived quickly, confirming the death of a woman in her 50s at the scene.

While formal ID is pending, the loved ones of a 57-year-old woman from the Stanhope area—missing since Sunday 22 March—have been notified.
