Tragic End to Coastguard Search for Missing Man in West Bay
Coastguard crews from West Bay and Lyme Regis, alongside a rescue helicopter, joined Dorset Police in a tense search for missing man Kevin Norminton near West Bay.
Body Found Near Thorncombe Beacon
The search ended at around 7pm when the casualty was recovered below the cliffs near Thorncombe Beacon. Dorset Police confirmed the grim discovery at 6pm, made by specialist teams combing the area.
Kevin Norminton: Last Seen on Tuesday
Kevin, 43, from Crewkerne, Somerset, was last seen on the morning of Tuesday 8 May. His family have been informed and are receiving support from officers during this heartbreaking time.
No Suspicious Circumstances
Chief Inspector Rob Chalkley said: “Although the body has yet to be formally identified, we believe it to be that of Kevin. We do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”
