Britons are being advised to anticipate a significant change in the banknotes they receive starting this week, as notes adorned with the portrait of King Charles III are set to enter circulation from June 5, confirmed by the Bank of England.
This marks the first issuance of banknotes featuring the portrait of King Charles III, with the monarch’s image set to grace existing designs of all denominations (£5, £10, £20, and £50). The Bank clarified that aside from the portrait change, there will be no alterations to the existing designs.
