Bungling Man endangered his home after burning sofa in Fareham Garden

Fire crews had to rescue a man and stop a blaze from spreading to his home last night in Fareham. Crews were called to Western Avenue in Fareham just after 11pm on Thursday evening when the man torched the three seater sofa in his back garden and got cut off by the blaze. The bungling resident endangered his home after the out of control blaze set fire to a nearby fence and threatened to engulf his home. The man who is in his 20s claimed that he didn’t have enough money to have the sofa removed to the tip so thought it would be a good idea to set fire to it. Fire crews have urged people not to burn unwanted furniture but advised to take it to the tip or make alternative arrangements to dispose of it safely.
