A Derby drug dealer was caught red-handed and locked up for four years after police found heroin, crack cocaine, and a stash of cash.
Police Spot Dealer Meeting on City Centre Steps
Lenworth McLean, 44, was spotted by officers chatting with a woman on steps linking Burton Road and Mount Carmel Street near Derby city centre on 28 January. Suspicious, police stopped him and searched his car, discovering a wrap of cocaine.
Raid on Property Uncovers Drugs and £7,000 in Cash
A follow-up search at a property linked to McLean on Abbey Street revealed more suspected heroin, crack cocaine, cannabis, and over £7,000 in cash, along with drug paraphernalia.
Dealer Admits Guilt and Cash Confiscated
McLean, who has no fixed address, was arrested and admitted to dealing drugs during police interviews. He faced charges including supplying heroin and cocaine, possession of cannabis, and holding criminal property.
At Derby Crown Court on 26 February, he pleaded guilty to all charges. The court sentenced him to four years in prison and seized the £7,131.33 haul.
