A Derby man has been locked up for four years after selling crack cocaine and heroin across the city.
Police Crack Down on AJ Line Drug Network
After months of investigation, officers uncovered a drugs ring known as the AJ Line operating in Derby. Acting on this intel, specialist teams raided properties linked to 24-year-old Faris Mushtaq on Brayfield Road, Littleover, and another city centre address on 20 January 2025.
Cash, Drugs and Digital Evidence Seized
- Officers found over £10,000 in cash, some hidden under a bed
- Two mobile phones were seized
- Mushtaq’s vehicle contained crack cocaine, heroin, cling film wraps, and digital scales
Investigators also discovered mass text messages sent from one of Mushtaq’s phones, advertising “best quality, light fluffy powder” and “best deals” with all-day drop-off services.
Confession and Conviction
Mushtaq was arrested but remained silent during interviews. Charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, he admitted to both offences. On 25 February, Derby Crown Court sentenced him to four years behind bars.
