Detectives are appealing for information one month on from a serious unprovoked assault in Wimbledon

Officers were called to High Street Mews in Wimbledon Village at 2.25pm on Sunday, 8 March after two men, aged in their 20s, were randomly attacked by an unknown group of people.

One of the victims remains in hospital with serious head injuries. The other victim has been discharged from hospital.

Officers from local CID are investigating the violent incident and have released CCTV images one month on to trace those responsible.

Officers wish to speak with the two males and two females shown in the various CCTV images.

Acting Detective Sergeant Simon Monga said: “The victims were subjected to a frightening ordeal in a completely unprovoked attack while they were walking home. They were punched and kicked to the floor and assaulted further.

“Nothing was stolen from them and we believe this could have been a case of mistaken identity.

“One of the victims remains in hospital and will do so for many weeks.

“I implore anyone who recognises these individuals to contact us and tell us what they know.”

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
