A Nottingham man tried to ditch a stash of cocaine during a scuffle with police, but it didn’t save him from a prison sentence.
Erratic Driving Sparks Police Chase
The knife crime team spotted a suspicious Hyundai Kona cruising Woodborough Road at 7.50pm on 4 December last year. The driver, later identified as 41-year-old Daniel Comrie from Woodthorpe, was driving erratically and quickly drew police attention.
Desperate Toss of Cocaine Caught on Camera
When officers tried to stop him, Comrie resisted and tried to push past. In the chaos, he threw a bundle of Class A drugs under the car. Officers quickly detained him and seized the cocaine wraps.
£10,000 Cash and More Drugs Found in Flat
Police raided Comrie’s flat on Villiers Road. They uncovered around £10,000 in cash and a clever stash of cocaine hidden inside the rubber seal of a washing machine door—discovered thanks to a sniffer dog.
Comrie pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, plus possession of criminal property.
At Nottingham Crown Court on 11 March, he was handed a 3½-year prison sentence. The crackdown on drug crime continues.
