A drug dealer caught up in a violent park shooting in Peterborough has been locked up. Eighteen-year-old Hamdard Khan fired a gun during a row in Central Park in the early hours of 9 March last year.
CCTV Leads Police to Drugs and Weapons Stash
Police swooped after reports of the firearm discharge. At the scene, they found a folding lock knife and five spent bullet casings. CCTV identified Khan, prompting a search of his Thistlemoor Road home in New England, Peterborough.
Officers seized cocaine and heroin worth £1,310, over £400 in cash, 60 blank firing rounds matching those from the park, a machete, and an extendable baton.
More Violence While on Bail
Despite being on court bail, Khan didn’t stay out of trouble. On 26 November, he and 23-year-old Rihaem Khan clashed with a group in Geneva Street, Peterborough. The fight saw pieces of wood used as weapons, a knife brandished, and Rihaem filmed throwing punches and hurling a brick.
Two people suffered minor injuries, one needing hospital treatment for a head cut.
Sentencing: Jail for Hamdard, Community Service for Rihaem
Hamdard Khan pleaded guilty to drug offences and affray. Last Friday (13 March) at Cambridge Crown Court, he was sentenced to 26 months behind bars.
Rihaem Khan, with no fixed address, admitted affray and was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
